Tessa owns four cats, the most prolific of which are Al (アル Aru) and Iven (イブン Ibun), who often aid her in battle. They appeared, along with their mistress, as cards in SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash, though being among the weakest cards.
Tessa has other pets, including her bird Hato, her frog Kaeru and a dragon spirit called Manot.

A versatile microwave plethysmograph for the monitoring of physiological parameters.

Abstract

A simple microwave technique for in vivo monitoring of human pulmonary and cardiac activity is here presented. The technique is based on detecting the changes in the modulation envelope of amplitude modulated waves passing through the human body. A simplified human chest model was developed, proving an unambiguous correlation between heart blood filling and microwave transmission through the chest. A prototype system for transmittance measurement was realized at the 868.5-MHz operating frequency, demonstrating the feasibility of a small, lowcost microwave plethysmograph. In vivo measurements showed a good agreement with numerical simulations.

Electrophysiological studies of myoclonic jerks provoked by photic stimulation.

A patient with a type of myoclonus produced by somatosensory and photic stimuli was studied electrophysiologically. Jerk-locked averaging showed cortical spikes in association with the spontaneous myoclonus. High amplitude somatosensory evoked potentials and high amplitude visual evoked potentials were observed. Somatosensory and photic stimuli produced 2 or 3 successive electromyographic (EMG) discharges. The time interval from the onset of the preceding EMG discharge to that of the following EMG discharge produced by photic stimulation corresponded to the latency of a long-loop reflex. It also corresponded to the time interval from the onset of the preceding EMG discharge to that of the following EMG discharge produced by somatosensory stimulation. Not only somatosensory but also photic stimuli might excite the loop of a long-loop reflex and cause myoclonic jerks.

Until the 1960s, most prisons in the United States were racially segregated. As prisons began to desegregate, many inmates organized along racial lines.^[22] The Aryan Brotherhood is believed to have been formed at San Quentin State Prison,^[23] but it may have been derived from or inspired by the Bluebird Gang.

As soon as it was organized, members of the AB put themselves under what they called "kill on sight" orders. When the cell doors at San Quentin opened each morning, AB members were required to hunt down and attack black inmates regardless of whether they belonged to a gang. The white gang was convinced that the best way to keep other gangs at bay was to prove that the Aryan Brotherhood was the most ruthless and savage gang in prison.
